About Us
I have been asked many times, “was this a life-long dream?”. And my answer is always no. This was better than commuting to New Jersey every week. Not that NJ isn’t a nice place to be, but I never chose to live there.
But, it was something that I have consciously planned on doing for 3 years. With the last of our children out of college, and my husband secure in his career, it was time to make the change. I have had many mentors through this process, persons who have experience in retail, in wine, in merchandising, as well as relying on my own skills of planning, purchasing and project management.
The store in Manchester was opened July 15, 2006. I feel we are filling a very specific niche. Great wines at reasonable prices with ‘everything that goes with it’. Add an experienced sales staff that are ‘eager’ to help you make your selection or to try something new.
AS of August 17, 2010, the Londonderry store has been closed. But that means that we are now offering about 2 dozen microbrews in Manchester.
The store is based on what I have not found in my personal shopping experiences
- wide open spaces – you can bring your baby carriages or wheelchairs in
- bright, engaging space –see the wine as you taste or the products before you buy
- soothing colors, music, laughter, information and some light-hearted fun!
So come to a comfortable, supportive shopping experience; you know what you like to drink, let me help you put it into words and together we will agree on what you might try next.
I also commit a 40’ wall in my store to promote local artists, which also makes your shopping experience, a unique, cultural event every month. “Try before you buy”, every Thursday in Manchester. If there is something specific you would like, let us try to find it for you.
My name is Maureen Adams and I welcome you to my store.
